Biography:
Jordan Lynne Pruitt (born May 19, 1991 in Loganville, Georgia) is an American recording artist. She was raised in Tennessee, where she started singing in church at age four and writing songs at age nine. After recording a demo album in 2006, Pruitt was discovered by producer Keith Thomas and later signed to Hollywood Records.
Pruitt's debut studio album, No Ordinary Girl, was released in February 2007, and included her first charting single, "Outside Looking In." The album peaked at number sixty-four on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. Her second album, Permission to Fly, was released in August 2008.
Pruitt once lived in Fairview, Tennessee. Her younger brother attended Fairview Elementary and Middle Schools.
Pruitt was born in Loganville, Georgia and raised in Franklin, Tennessee. She has an older sister Jennyfer Pruitt who is 2 years older than her. She began singing in church with her father at age four and started writing songs at nine. In 2006, she recorded a demo album that was eventually discovered by producer Keith Thomas. Shortly after, Pruitt was signed to Hollywood Records.
In June 2006, Pruitt's debut single, "Outside Looking In," was released to promote the Disney Channel TV film Read It and Weep. Her debut studio album, No Ordinary Girl, was released on February 6, 2007 and peaked at number sixty-four on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. Pruitt toured with the High School Musical cast, as their opening act in 2007.
Pruitt's second studio album, Permission to Fly, was released on August 26, 2008. The album was essentially a commercial failure; both it and its singles failed to appear on any chart probably due to the fact that the first release of the album was released only at Limited Too stores before finally being given a more expanded release one month after.
In 2008, Pruitt performed with the Tour of Gymnastics Superstars in places such as: Columbus, Ohio , Des Moines, IA, and Indianapolis, IN.
Pruitt's third studio album is set to be released in July, 2010. "Don't Lose Yourself", written by Jonas Brothers, is expected to be a track. Pruitt confirmed via Twitter that she has recorded two new songs "Collide" and "Best of Me". She also recorded the song "Take to the Sky" for Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure soundtrack and covered "This Christmas" for All Wrapped Up Vol. 2.
