Biography:
Kaitlyn made her acting debut on stage at age 7 as a talking Toto in Robin Hood in Oz in her hometown of Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Her energy and comedic talent lit up the stage and she proceeded to pursue her love for acting and singing in more than 15 featured theatrical roles including Annie in Annie, Alice in Alice in Wonderland, and Slighly in Peter Pan.
Kaitlyn has performed in several professional theater productions in the Kansas City area including A Christmas Story at the American Heartland Theatre, Amazing Grace at Rainbow's End Theatre, and The Night Before Christmas at the Coterie Theatre - recently named one of the top five children's theaters in the country by TIME magazine. She also does commercials, voice overs and film in the Kansas City area.
In February of 2005, Kaitlyn and her mom ventured to Los Angeles where she signed with a theatrical and commercial agent and spent pilot season auditioning. That's when she worked on the movies "Akeelah and the Bee" and "Grandma's Boy." Back home in Kansas City, she won a role in "The Raising of Jeffrey Dahmer" and become SAG eligible. She is spending the summer of 2007 back in LA in hopes of work and additional training.
Kaitlyn will be a sophomore at Excelsior Springs High School and, in addition to high academics, has been active in theater, choir, forensics, math team and soccer. She continues to study acting with Nancy Marcy at the Coterie Theatre, Gary Austin and Joey Paul Jensen in Los Angeles. She takes private voice lessons and studies dance and musical theater performance. When not acting, dancing, singing, or playing soccer, she loves to read, chat on-line with her friends, and create scrapbooks of her shows. She hopes to continue her film and commercial experience.
