An older brother, Caleb, was born in 1979. Brought up immersed in the acting profession from both sides - writing and performing - it is little wonder that the young Keira asked for her own agent at the age of three. She was granted one at the age of six and performed in her first TV role as Little Girl in Royal Celebration (1993) (TV), aged seven. It was discovered at an early age that Keira had severe difficulties in reading and writing. She was not officially dyslexic as she never sat the formal tests required of the British Dyslexia Association. Instead she worked incredibly hard, encouraged by her family, until the problem had been overcome by her early teens. Her first multi-scene performance came in A Village Affair (1994), an adaptation of the lesbian love story by Joanna Trollope. This was followed by small parts in British crime series "The Bill" (1984), an exiled German princess in Treasure Seekers (1996) (TV) and a much more substantial role as the young Judith Dunbar in Giles Foster's adaptation of Rosamunde Pilcher's novel Coming Home (1998) (TV), alongside 'Peter O' Toole' , Penelope Keith and Joanna Lumley. The first time Keira's name was mentioned around the world was when it was revealed (in a plot twist kept secret by director George Lucas) that she played Natalie Portman's decoy Padme to Portman's Amidala in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). She was deemed too young for the role since was only 3 years old, but Cosby could see she had talent. They asked Raven to come back to read lines, and she did so well that she got a starring role as Olivia on the last three seasons of "The Cosby Show" (1984). After the show finished its run, she decided to try something new like singing. In 1993, she became the youngest person ever to sign with MCA Records. She also went back to acting with a starring role in "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" (1992), alongside Mark Curry and a small role in the TV mini-series "Queen" (1993) (mini). After another small role in the feature film The Little Rascals (1994) and the role of Goldilocks in the TV series "Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child" (1995), "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper" ended. She also starred in Dr. Dolittle 2 (2001), but she was not available to do Zenon: The Zequel (2001) (TV). However, the Walt Disney Company, which made the Zenon movies, wanted her back to do a pilot for a new Disney TV show called "Absolutely Psychic," in which she would be a supporting character. She impressed them so much that they changed the show's premise to be about her and the show's name was changed to "That's So Raven" (2002). Emmy Rossum
September 12, 1986
It would seem that 2004, the year of her 18th birthday, will be remembered as pivotal for Emmy Rossum due to her appearance in two very different films, The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and The Phantom of the Opera (2004). Emmy's performance in the latter film gained her a Golden Globe nomination, and should assure that she will be a memorable presence in many films to come. Being born and raised in New York City provided Emmy with the perfect place to start her professional career. After passing an audition at the Metropolitan Opera when she was 7 years old, she performed in over 20 operas in six different languages at Lincoln Center, alongside figures such as Pl?cido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti. She was directed by Franco Zeffirelli in "Carmen". She left the opera when she entered her teenage years, as she had grown too tall to perform as a child. Emmy also appeared in a Carnegie Hall presentation of "The Damnation of Faust".
In a change of venue, Emmy created the role of Abigail Williams in the daytime soap opera "As the World Turns" (1956) in 1999 and branched out in performances in the made-for-television movies Genius (1999) (TV) and The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) (TV), in which she played the title character as a young teenager. Other television work included "Snoops" (1999), "Law & Order" (1990) and "The Practice" (1997).
Emmy made her theatrical feature debut in the indie Songcatcher (2000), which won the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Ensemble Performance at the Sundance Film Festival in January, 2000. Rossum received an Independent Spirit Award nomination in the category of Best Debut Performance for her performance as an Appalachian orphan. She played an aspiring songwriter (the title character) in the romantic comedy Nola (2003). Cast as the ill-fated daughter of a small-business owner in Clint Eastwood's Mystic River (2003), she projected an aura of innocence that made her tragic death memorable and heartbreaking. This was her first major studio film. After 6 months of filming her role as the fresh-faced but highly intelligent heroine of The Day After Tomorrow (2004) in Montreal, the 16 year old returned to New York and screen-tested for the role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera (2004) in full costume and make-up and was finally selected for the part by Andrew Lloyd Webber after singing for him at his home. Although surprised to be chosen ahead of many better-known and older actresses considered for the part, the combination of her vulnerable, fragile beauty and fine, classically-trained singing voice ultimately proved that she was perfectly cast. In preparation for the role, she took ballet classes for two months and started polishing her singing. Emmy has commented that, in her approach to acting, she draws heavily upon her own experiences, so she visited locations in Paris and conjured up what she a terms "past memories" to draw upon in making her performance emotionally realistic. She stood on the roof of the Opera Garnier where Christine sings "All I Ask of You" and went underneath the opera house where there is actually a gloomy, dark lake. She studied Degas' paintings of ballerinas in the Musee d'Orsay to learn how to stand like one. Emmy attended the private Spence School in Manhattan through the 7th grade, and then finished high school using tutors and the Internet (through Stanford University). She is now enrolled at Columbia University and has already completed a course in art history, being inspired by her study of Degas in Paris.

Throughout her childhood, she made numerous appearances in singing competitions and pageants in and around the state of Georgia, even making it as far as performing at Nashville, Tennessee's legendary Grand Ole Opry, not surprising anyone by becoming widely admired and adored.
At an older age, Diana traveled to Scandinavia to try and pursue a career in music, but unfortunately nothing happened professionally and Diana's incredible talent was still unknown. It was after gaining recognition on the television show "America's Most Talented Kids" that Diana tried out for the incredibly popular, "American Idol," which first gained success in the UK known as "Pop Idol." American Idol had previously brought forth such talents as Kelly Clarkson, Tamyra Gray, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken. American Idol is a show where thousands of talented people compete against one another to win the title "American Idol," in which they also win a record contract and tons of media attention. It's much like Star Search, but with a very interesting twist. Contestants are voted off week by week, chosen not by the judges but by America. America uses their telephones to call in at the end of each show and vote for who they thought had the best performance for that night. The contestant with the least amount of votes for that night is kicked off.
Becoming one of the youngest contestants to make it to "Hollywood," the word every hopeful competitor wants to hear, Diana was praised by the show's infamous judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul. She then advanced into the Top 32, which was chosen only by the judges, then Diana's fate was in America's hands. She was the first contestant chosen to be in the official and final Top 12. It was from there that Diana gained her American Idol success, placing second behind Fantasia Barrino among 70,000 hopefuls for the American Idol title.
After the show's season finale aired, Diana, Fantasia, and eight other finalists for the third season, Jasmine Trias, La Toya London, George Huff, John Stevens, Jennifer Hudson, Jon Peter Lewis, Camile Velasco, Amy Adams, traveled across America, also making a stop in Singapore, on the American Idols Live tour. This was their chance to perform for the fans who spent week after week with the contestants enduring just as much fear, excitement, and sadness that they did.

Mara starred in three films over the following three years, the last of which was as the granddaughter of Peter Fonda in the film version of the British children's favorite Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000). Unfortunately, the film did not do well in the box office and also signaled an end to Mara's childhood career as she focused on her school career and just enjoying her teenage years.
In June 2005, Mara finished up at Burbank High School and has since go on to attend New York University where she is studying drama, so perhaps the big screen has not seen the last of her!

Within months he had landed a small but memorable role as Tom Hanks' son in Forrest Gump (1994) and a starring role as Edward Asner's grandson on the TV series "Thunder Alley" (1994). His comedy skills were manifest very young, and he followed "Thunder Alley" with two more sitcoms. Norman Jewison gave him his first leading role on the big screen in Bogus (1996), and he proved completely at ease in this dramatic role. However, it took the smash hit The Sixth Sense (1999) to brand the young actor on the public consciousness. His devastating performance as the haunted Cole Sear brought him an Oscar nomination at age 11 and a memorable tribute at the awards from winner Michael Caine: "Once I learned of your nomination and saw your performance, I knew for sure you would win". Since then, he has given an equally powerful performance in Pay It Forward (2000). Nikki Reed
May 17, 1988
Nicole Houston Reed was born on May 17, 1988 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Seth Reed, a set designer, and Cheryl Houston, a hairdresser; she has an older brother, Nathan. Reed's father is Jewish and her mother has Cherokee Native American and Italian ancestry. Reed grew up exposed to the Jewish religion, as her brother had a Bar Mitzvah, although it has been noted that she has "questioned religion". She wears contact lenses and glasses.
Reed has described her home life as "complicated". Her parents divorced when she was two, and she grew up with her mother. At the age of fourteen, Reed moved out and began living on her own. She has since noted that during this time, she "grew up very fast", was "mature and responsible", as well as a "shy kid" and a "bookworm" who had no specific desire to become an actress. Director Catherine Hardwicke was Reed's father's ex-girlfriend, and also a close friend of Reed's family. Hardwicke asked Nikki to co-write a teenage comedy script. Reed, however, eventually wrote a serious dramatic script based on the experiences she went through as a teenager.
Reed and Hardwicke finished the script for the semibiographical film in six days, a relatively fast time for a Hollywood script to be written. Producers asked Reed to play a role in the film because they had trouble casting it, considering it an "uncomfortable" role for most young actresses. The film, also starring Evan Rachel Wood, was filmed and released in 2003 to glowing reviews, giving Reed recognition in Hollywood as both an actress and a screenwriter. Following the film's release, Reed also appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and hosted a number of award shows, including the Young Hollywood Awards (2003), and the Independent Spirits Awards Nomination Show, followed by the West Independent Spirits Awards, both in 2004.
Reed has continued to participate in racy roles that involve the portrayal of sexually promiscuous teenagers, including Lords of Dogtown, also directed by Hardwicke. In early 2006, she appeared on the series The O.C., playing Sadie, a new love interest for the character Ryan Atwood. Reed has noted that she disagrees with what she describes as the "trendy and shallow things" that The O.C. promotes, and that she appeared in the series because of advice from her agents.
Reed in Mini's First Time, 2006. Her most recent film role is in Mini's First Time, which received a limited release in the United States on July 14, 2006. In the film, Reed plays a teenager who, through seduction, involves her step-father in a plot to murder her mother. Reed has noted that her character does not "understand the weight of consequence", and that she enjoyed playing someone who she describes as "crass" and having a "trucker's mouth". Reed's character participates in explicit sex scenes, which had to be filmed from the point of view of Reed's back, as she was sixteen at the time and thus legally unable to film her scenes in a more explicit manner.
Reed has written another script, which may soon be produced, set in New Zealand between the 1960s and the 1980s. Reed has noted that she feels she is a versatile actress, but feels typecast in roles of "sexy bad girls", noting that producers often tell her that she is too "sexy" for a particular part.
After Thirteen's success, Reed returned to her Los Angeles high school, but dropped out again after a year. She cited her experiences, involving "mothers [who] were sneaking into the school at lunchtime to confront and harass me about the film" as the reason for her departure.Reed was subsequently home-schooled, and eventually received her high school diploma.
Reed, who resides in New York City and Los Angeles, began dating actor Victor Rasuk after meeting him on the set of Lords of Dogtown. The two now live together and Reed has specified that they are "in love..
